SLØTFACE // Making Offerings To The Lorde

SLØTFACE smash out a Lorde tribute and we’re freaking out!

Which is not a coincidence, as the Norwegian band’s debut album Try Not To Freak Out is due to drop next week and has us getting freakin’ ready for summer!

The rocking four-piece stepped up to triple j’s Like A Version with their own punk-rock rendition of Lorde’s Supercut and followed the piece up with Magazine—a tune taken from their own album that’s fast becoming a favourite.

One listen and it’s easy to hear why. Vocalist Haley Shea delivers lyrics with the force and pep of a New Year firework, and her quick-fire punk lines hit with the impact of an experienced musician.

Guitarist Tor-Arne Vikingstad and bassist Lasse Lokøy back this sensation with sparky, catchy riffs, while drummer Halvard Skeie Wiencke delivers speedy beats to an album that’s already made for fist pumping.

But it’s not just good tunes—SLØTFACE lyrics work hard to help break down preconceived ideas of what a rock album should be and instead, offer up some fresh, fun alternatives that will have you punching the air with glee.

Australian SLØTFACE fans have already enjoyed live performances in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney this week.
