Hysteria is proud to premiere Brisbane punk three-piece Satellites new video for Thread. It’s taken from their upcoming Black Dog EP, due out the 29th of September.
Thread premiered on triple j’s Short.Fast.Loud on Wednesday night. Black Dog was produced, mixed, and recorded by Troy Brady. The EP was mastered by Gareth Hargreaves. The Threads video was shot at multiple locations around Brisbane by Jack Marshallsea from DC Film.
Vocalist Mitch Chamberlain explains the themes of Thread in a statement: “Thread is about my struggle to come to terms with the fact that I may just have to accept the mould that society has chosen for me. Maybe I was never presented with the opportunity, or maybe, I just didn’t have the guts to do what needed to be done to get where I wanted to be. And maybe now I’ve run out of time.”
This is the band’s first release since 2016’s Glass Jaw, also produced by Brady. Since their 2013 formation, they’ve supported international acts such as Neck Deep, The Wonder Years, Knuckle Puck, The Story So Far, Man Overboard, Motion City Soundtrack, and Real Friends.
Thread will drop next Monday 14 August, on Spotify. Black Dog will be available for pre-order from Friday 18 August for a 29 September release. For more, visit Satellites’ Facebook.
