PREMIERE: THE SILENCIO // New Single, New Video, A Tour, Oh My!

Hear ye, hear ye! The Silencio are heading out on the road for a second time to celebrate the release of last year’s awesome debut album, Anathema.

The Gold Coast rockers previously toured off the back of the release of singles Been There All Along, This Cannot Die and Lift Your Spirits. This second run will celebrate the release of the album’s last single and title track, out today.

Be prepared for The Silencio to take you, the listener, on a completely different journey with Anathema. Where the previous singles showcased the more upbeat nature of the acoustic-rock four piece, the final instalment of the album presents soft, lush guitar tones and some well-placed vocals. The accompanying video, also out today, shows a softer, more pensive side to The Silencio, giving their alt-rock ways a different yet palatable vibe. Set to some breathtaking Gold Coast backdrops, beaches and tropical hideaways, the video ends with a great band performance in Nightjar Bar in Burleigh Heads. There are also a few sneaky Easter eggs in the video for fans to find, an homage to previous single videos.

Always intended as the last single from the debut, the release of this shift-in-style single provides another reason to celebrate the band’s cool sound when they head out on tour in May. Their diversity of sound and strong song writing skills are what have propelled The Silencio to widespread recognition. Triple j presenter Ciaran Lyons gave the album a four and a half star rating on the band’s Unearthed page, with all current singles receiving some solid airplay ahead of the next tour.

Be sure and catch these guys in May as they propel themselves around the country to celebrate Anathema one last time.
