Australian melodic tech death band Snake Mountain are set to release their latest single and …
They say rock ’n’ roll is dead, but thanks to Brisbane rockers Port Royal, it’s well and truly alive. We’re proud to premiere their new EP, Love Passion Satisfaction, ahead of its official release tomorrow, 10th August. Get your groove on below!
To celebrate the release, the band are dropping the EP on 12″ vinyl LP, CDs, and five new merch designs, which you can see and order here.
If you do not know who Port Royal are, then you’re really missing out. Formed in 2015, the four-piece is all about reminiscent ‘60s/‘70s rock. Songs about love and rock ’n’ roll, their first EP The Express released in 2015 captures the essence of what the Port Royal boys are about.
Clashing patterns, thrashing guitars and long hair make up one of Brisbane’s current biggest rock bands Port Royal. Not only is bringing back good old rock and roll is one thing they’re good at, but dropping singles and tours like they’re going out of fashion is another, and its been nothing but kind to the four Brisbane boys. Those boys being: Connor Arnold (Drums), Lawson Doyle (Guitar & Vocals), Liam Morton (Lead Guitar & Vocals), and Chase Brodie (Bass & Keyboard).
Ranging from hits like Dirty Boy; a heavy, pub sing along tune that’s bound to get you moving, to raw and emotional tunes like Elizabeth; a heart-string pulling ballad that stops you for a moment, it only keeps coming, the more that the Brisbane based band release new music.
Fast-forward a couple years, and a few more songs added to their set list, they’re still releasing tunes that make you groove, nostalgic of bands like The Rolling Stones. Touring nationally with big acts like The Delta Riggs and The Cherry Dolls, as well as playing large festivals along the lines of Brisbane’s Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and Mojo Burning Festival alongside Wolfmother, they’ve created a rock storm.
Releasing their single Rock & Roll Is Dead earlier this year, accompanied by a vampire-themed music video, you can really see how the band has musically evolved over the past few years, while still keeping their bluesy bass tones, upbeat drums and crazy vocals from their roots.
Mixing it up with their new release One Of A Kind, which creates that great contrast of rock sub-genres Port Royal are more than capable of, is a sweet and subtle tune that is reflective of The Beatles in its sweet lyrics and head-bopping melody.
Setting the expectation of a stellar second EP due to be released this month, Rock & Roll Is Dead and One Of A Kind are only the beginning of what seems like will be the greatest EP the band have released so far (in our humble opinion.)
After a big year of forty-two gigs and counting, the completion of one tour, two single releases and a music video release since the start of 2018, Port Royal really are living the rock and roll lifestyle; releasing news of their Love Passion Satisfaction twenty date tour – one of their biggest tours to date.
Taking on the East Coast, Port Royal will be hitting venues as high up as Airlie Beach and as south as Geelong, so strap yourself in for a good time of good music and brightly patterned spandex flares.
