PREMIERE: FAKE NEWS // Succeed With Debut Film Clip ’20 Failures’, Debut EP ‘Ewwww!’

Yeah, we know. It may say fake news at the top, but this is real news because we’re premiering the debut music video for the fantastic Gold Coast punks Fake News.

20 Failures is the band’s first single from their recently released debut EP Ewwww! The track is a fun blast of melodic punk rock inspired by bands signed to legendary Californian record labels Epitaph and Fat Wreck Chords, while frontman Toby Mitchell passionately shouts about trying to overcome writer’s block. The video, directed by bassist Nick Vanderkley, captures the fun of a Fake News gig, with friends gathered together in a shed and shouting with the band.

Fake News have progressed far since forming towards the end of 2017 and playing their first shows back in March. Since then, the band has supported the likes of international acts Straightline (Germany), Darko (UK), and Good Riddance (US), along with a heap of local legends. Their debut EP also features the work of legends, with mixing and mastering provided by Dan Wlelklinski of Rise Against and 88 Fingers Louie.

The band has gigs lined-up in November, including supporting Swedish punks No Fun At All. Until then, listen to their debut EP here.
