NEW FOUND GLORY // Gloriae Semper Vincit

New Found Glory
with Stand Atlantic
The Metro Theatre, Sydney – 11th August, 2017

Friday night. Another week of work is for the books and we just want to have fun and recharge, don’t we?

Isn’t it the best way to start your weekend with having a blast at one of Sydney’s nicest venues while listening to songs you’ve already loved for ages? It is.

Before the main act of tonight´s event climbs the stage, the Sydney based band Stand Atlantic play a set to warm up the crowd. OH YEAH! They did. With the first song of their set everyone was involved. The up and coming guys and girl played and energetic set, which made a lot of people dance and move like they were the headliner. After 30 minutes of an awesome new pop-punk band they were finished and now it was time for the band everyone had been waiting for.

That you have a huge fan base after 20 years of successful being around in the music industry is not unusual, but tonight was just crazy.

The first Australian tour since 2015 for New Found Glory who played Sydney two days in a row. On Thursday, they played Sticks and Stones and their self-titled record I their entirety and tonight fans waited for Catalyst and Not Without A Fight. That you have a huge fan base after 20 years of successful being around in the music industry is not unusual, but tonight was just crazy.  Before the set started we heard “NFG” choirs, and when the band entered stage the crowd went nuts.

Starting with The Truth Of My Youth there were crowd surfers, crowd singalongs, and energetic dancing all over the Metro Theatre. Vocalist Jordan Pundik had a crowd that knew every single word; it was awesome to hear the crowd singing along to some of their greatest hits. Chad Gilbert and Ian Grushka also involved their screaming fans with silly faces and hand signs telling the crowd what to do next.

At the point where the band left the stage and the lights dimmed the crowd did not give up and the band returned with a great three song encore. At the very end, they played the greatest hit My Friends Over You so that everyone got home with a smile on their face. It was an intense evening with a crazy crowd so that band and fans had a night they’ll probably never forget.
