HARD NOISE: MINISTRY + FILTER // Cancel Double-Header Aussie Tour

Sometimes selling out multiple dates months ahead of schedule isn’t enough lock in a high profile tour. Fans of US industrial metal legends Ministry will know this is an all too true reality, with the the cancellation of their upcoming national run alongside fellow internationals Filter being officially announced today.

Things began to look murky when yesterday Filter took to their socials to tell their Aussie fans that they would be unable to make the trip;

“Due to circumstances beyond our control the Australia/Singapore dates with Ministry have been cancelled. It is not our fault.”

Keeping things just as frustratingly vague, the Aussie promoters over at Metropolis Touring today confirmed the news, telling followers that they were “guttered.”

“As Ministry’s first headline tour, and with some shows sold out or close to being so, the tour was set to be a huge success and we can understand fans of both artists will be disappointed” read the statement.

“No replacement dates have been proposed and refunds are available from the point of purchase.”

The tour was the first trip down south by Al Jourgensen and co. since the 2015 Soundwave Festival, with the only other visit by the band occurring in 1995 as part of the Big Day Out festival.

With a distinct lack of heavy music festivals available to pull internationals over, it’s a huge blow for both Metropolis Touring and fans of the band who aren’t getting any younger.

Ministry are yet to comment on the cancellation.
