MATT WALTER // To Hold ‘No Pits, Just Pits’ Rock Photography Exhibition

Friend of Hysteria and celebrated rock photographer Matt Walter (formerly Warrell) has announced an exhibition of his photography, titled No Pits, Just Pits, to be held during Brisbane’s Bigsound Festival.

His soon-to-be iconic photography of Australian artists such as Clowns, Violent Soho, Dune Rats, plus his impressive repertoire of international acts, will be on display at Church Brisbane from the 6th to 10th of September. Church Brisbane is the new art space inside rock venue Crowbar Black. Matt will also be on hand in the gallery telling stories about his experiences.

“There’s so much that goes into putting on smaller shows,” Matt tells Hysteria. “It’s not just massive tours that get thought out to the finest detail. The planning, the practice, the commitment, the energy, the aftermath – it’s all a beautifully well-oiled machine that isn’t often seen by the audience. I want the exhibit to be a smallest window into that. These shows are really special moments for not just the artist and the audience, but for me as well.”

The exhibition will also offer some of his limited edition prints – and once they’re on sale, they go quick. No reprints or backorders are available. Each print is released on museum grade paper that has an estimated shelf life of 100 years.
