LUNA // PREMIERE—Debuts With Single ‘Venomous’

Luna

Hysteria is proud to premiere the debut single by vocalist and pianist Luna, titled Venomous at 2pm today on Hysteria Radio.

Recorded and produced by Jimmy Alexander, Venomous is the debut single for Melbourne based alternative singer-songwriter Luna Ruggiero under the name Luna. Formerly part of metallers Make Them Suffer as a session player, she toured Europe and Australia, often alongside scene luminaries such as Whitechapel, Thy Art is Murder, Carnifex, Obey The Brave, Fallujah, and Polar.

Venomous is a delicate electronic departure from the heavy sounds of MTS, but one that’s more in tune with Luna’s perspectives on life and music.

“I feel like music, for me, is about a connection,” Luna says in an interview with Hysteria Radio’s You’ve Got Mike, airing today. “I want to be authentic as I can be. Everything that I write, it has to be something coming from my heart. Even if I write about parties, or sex, or something more emotional, it has to be what I want to write about. I don’t write something for sales or things like that.”

Venomous is really about the struggles that I’ve been through, about not getting the support for the things I wanted to do. It’s about overcoming emotional abuse, bullying, other people who are fragile and project their hate onto you. At the end of the day, I’m going to be criticised regardless of what I do. Now I do what I want and I don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks or says.”

Venomous will be available on Spotify, iTunes, Bandcamp and Apple Music from 1st July. Luna will be announcing tour dates via her social media and mailing list, which you can find here.
