THE LOVE JUNKIES // PREMIERE—New Track ‘Johnny Horner’

Punchy Perthican rockers The Love Junkies are proud to premiere their latest track Johnny Horner, taken from their upcoming Cough and Splutter EP. Listen below:

The track is taken from Cough and Splutter, the first of two planned EP releases for 2017. Recorded and produced by the band’s singer/guitarist Mitch McDonald at Blackbird Studios, the two EPs will combine for a special vinyl release in October.

As for the track, the band says “Johnny Horner’s about being stuck at a super hip bar with super hip people blowing plumes of champion ruby up each others super hip assholes.” We know that feel.

Forming just three years ago, the Perth band has performed at SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Music Matters in Singapore, in Hanoi, Vietnam, and took a five-week tour of the United States. They were nominated for the West Australian Music Industry award for best Rock Act in 2015.

Previous single Past Intense heard airplay on triple j, and was the second most played track on Perth’s RTRFM for April.

The band will play three special launch shows in Perth, Fremantle, and Melbourne.

Cough and Splutter will be available for download and streaming from 30th June. Physical releases will be available from 7th July.
