Australian melodic tech death band Snake Mountain are set to release their latest single and …
Finnish masters of melodic death metal and woe Insomnium are coming to Australia in May as part of their first ever headline tour.
The gloomsters were last here in 2015 supporting Swedish thrashers The Haunted. The band will arrive Down Under just in time for the leaves to turn brown and skies to grey. I guess that’s how they like it.
Touring alongside will be Melbourne melo-death rising stars Orpheus Omega.
They’ll be supporting 2016’s “epic song” / album Winter’s Gate, a tale “about a group of Vikings who set out to find a fabled island west of Ireland, despite the treacherous winter drawing near.”
Winter’s Gate’s lyrics are adapted from an award-winning short story, written by bassist Niilo Sevänen.
The tour also marks the 20th anniversary of Insomnium’s formation, first getting together in Joensuu, Finland.
Tickets are on sale now via OzTix.
