Australian melodic tech death band Snake Mountain are set to release their latest single and …
If you grew up listening to rock music during the late 90s and throughout the 00s, there were a few staples you had in your wardrobe and makeup boxes. Black eyeliner, wrist cuffs, band tees. Admit it: the first thing you did was rush into the hairdresser and get that perfect flowing side fringe.
With AFI announcing their 2017 Australian tour, we decided to look back at the bands that still bring out that black fringe in all of us.
ALL THIS WEEK! LISTEN TO DAVEY HAVOK ON HYSTERIA RADIO 6am/12pm/2pm!

All Time Low
With ATL’s Australian tour already under way, we couldn’t go past this Baltimore band without paying tribute to their earlier, fringe-flowing days.
-
Fall Out Boy
These guys showed us that you can be a little bit nerdy, but still rock that fringe (or fedora) when the right song comes on!
-
Good Charlotte
Before they were The Madden Brothers, Good Charlotte were the punk-looking bad boys of the game. Fringe not on point? That’s okay, add some piercings and big chains to your wardrobe and you were set!
-
Simple Plan
As a teenager if you wanted to show the world how angsty you were, you wore a simple plan shirt and blasted Perfect from your iPod!
-
Bullet For My Valentine
Although the fringes may be missing in their most recent album, we all remember the majestic locks that made our tears fall… in happiness!
-
Papa Roach
Having been around nearly as long as the fringe itself, you can’t resist regressing back to the good old days when you held your fists in the air after that first line…. “cut my life into pieces.”
-
Sum 41
You need a fringe to catch the tears no doubt flowing when With Me starts playing.
-
blink-182
Adam’s Song, Miss You, Dysentery Gary… The list goes on for songs that blink-182 are not only known for, but are a MUST for any fringe-banging playlist!
-
My Chemical Romance
Although defunct, the MCRmy haven’t let the bands emotion-filled, theatrical, and sometimes a bit odd, songs be forgotten! Not only does hearing I’m Not Okay fuel the urge to grow you fringe, you also want to run to the nearest shop and buy 6 packs of black eyeliner to complete your look!

AFI
Really, is anyone surprised? Davey Havok in the Miss Murder music video is basically the poster boy look for at-heart-emo’s everywhere.
Tickets for AFI’s Australian Tour with Basement and Introvert are available now.
