Eco-rockers In Hearts Wake have launched We Are Waterborne: An In Hearts Wake Initiative to help clean up marine debris from waterways around Australia.

On the back of the initiative, the band have also set a date for their hometown launch show of new album Ark, set for the 1st of June at the Northern Hotel in Byron Bay.

In Hearts Wake are joining forces with marine environment charity Tangaroa Blue for We Are Waterborne: An In Hearts Wake Initiative to lead a series of waterway clean-ups in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and in Byron Bay.

According to a statement, “Marine debris is one of the major environmental issues worldwide and In Hearts Wake are calling upon their fans to join them in these clean-ups, as well as encouraging fans to form their own clean-up crews to tackle their local problem waterways.”

Details for the first round of clean-ups are as follows:

Friday 26 May – St Kilda Beach, Melbourne
Saturday 27 May – Bondi Beach, Sydney
Sunday 28 May – Captain Burke Park, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane
Thursday 1 June – Main Beach, Byron Bay

All clean-ups will kick off at 1pm and participants will receive a free We Are Waterborne Volunteer T-Shirt on arrival. For more information or to register, click here.
