Old School Brutal Grindcore

Expulsion have blasted onto the scene recently, becoming the latest ‘supergroup’ of sorts in the grind and death metal arena. The band, made up of Matt Olivo (Repulsion) on guitar, Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome) providing the filthy, guttural vocals, Danny Walker (Intronaut, Exhumed, Phobia, Uphill Battle) on the skins and Menno Verbaten (Lightning Swords of Death) on the bass, are all masters in their relevant genres and they bring these influences to Nightmare Future with force.

The album throws back to the old school and the brutal, in-your-face tracks are punchy, with sharp riffs and disgustingly raw vocals that nail the era completely.

Expulsion are angry as hell and completely disgusted with the world around us and they want everyone to know about it.

There is only one track that clocks in at over two and a half minutes, so it is definitely a short album, but that’s the beauty of their grindcore. It’s in your face, aggressive and unforgiving as it rips your head off with the speed and brutality of the music. Expulsion are angry as hell and completely disgusted with the world around us and they want everyone to know about it.

If you think you can handle the explosive riffs of Olivio, paired with the gravelly, growling vocals of Harvey, layered over some stupidly good drums, then definitely lend fourteen minutes of your time to Nightmare Future and hope that the band don’t stop here.
