Dear Chester, I only realised a few days ago that it’s nearly been a year …
Glassjaw were set to kick off their January tour of Australia on Monday in Sydney, but a statement from MJR Presents has just announced the tour has been cancelled.
Promoter Scott Mesiti hopes to rebook the band for later in 2018 and has released this statement:
“Unfortunately, we have to cancel these Glassjaw tour dates next week—we’re currently waiting on more information from the band and their ability to reschedule the tour, so we are cancelling this tour for now. To those Glassjaw fans who have purchased tickets—you will be refunded 100% of your ticket purchase. We are very sorry that this tour has had to be cancelled—we know Glassjaw fans are extremely passionate and very keen to see them. We are waiting and hoping to hear that the dates can be rescheduled for later in the year as we’re still committed to bring Glassjaw to Australia in the near future!”
The band were returning to Australia for the first time in four years, after they played Soundwave Festival, and a sideshow with The Dillinger Escape Plan in 2014.
Glassjaw are yet to release a statement about the cancellation.
