ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES // Are Heading Back to Oz

Punk rock supergroup Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are heading back to Australia this October, with a real-live Australian on guitar!

Legendary punk rocker and rockabilly lead guitarist Chris Cheney (The Living End) joins Joey Cape (Lagwagon) on rhythm guitar, Dave Raun (Lagwagon) on drums, Jay Bentley (Bad Religion) on bass and led by Uke-Hunt’s frontman Spike Slawson.

The immortal punk rock cover band will play classics and new tracks from their seven album discography – including tracks from their special Aussie-themed Down Under EP. This will be their first sojourn to Australia since 2013.

Cheney joined the band on their 2017 US tour through May.

The tour will cover all major capital cities, including two special regional shows in Newcastle and Geelong.

According to a statement, the band “is an outfit that has always operated more like a beer-hall Pussycat Dolls than a regular mortal band—contain so much hot air, so much pomp, so much attitude, that it’s a wonder that these guys can still manage to pull their five individual tour buses into the same parking lot, put their differences aside and belt out the ballads without clawing each other’s eyes out.” Now I’d buy that for a dollar.

Tickets go on sale Friday 26th May at 9am through Select Touring. A special pre-sale for Select Touring members goes on sale on Wednesday 23rd May at 9am. Click here for all ticket details.
