If you can’t afford to hit Download 2018 in Melbourne (come on, save your pennies and buy a ticket!), then it’s time to crack into the raft of sideshows just announced.

With the inaugural festival set to hit Melbourne on Saturday 24 March, a number of crowd favourites (and one guilty pleasure) have released details of their own headlining shows!

  • Prophets of Rage will headline the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on 22 March, and the Riverstage in Brisbane on 26 March. Tickets are on sale here at 1PM Thursday 27 December.
  • Good Charlotte have the largest blockbuster package with Neck Deep, Falling In Reverse, Issues AND Chase Atlantic hitting the Hordern Pavilion on 26 March and the Riverstage on 28 March. Tickets are on sale here at 11AM 8 December.
  • Supporting Amon Amarth’s headliner at the Roundhouse in Sydney on 25 March and The Tivoli in Brisbane on 27 March are Swedish heavy metallers Sabaton. Tickets are on sale here at 3PM Wednesday 6 December.
  • Pop punk darlings The Story So Far will headline The Zoo in Brisbane on 23 March, and the Factory Theatre on 25 March with special guests Slowly Slowly and Easy Life. Tickets are on sale here at Midday, Wednesday 6 December.
  • ‘Second best crushing record of the year’ holders Nails (first is Justice for the Damned for those playing at home) are set to destroy Crowbar in Brisbane on 22 March, and Red Rattler in Sydney 23 March. Tickets are on sale here at 3PM 5 December.
  • Rounding out the blockbuster sideshows are juggernauts Neck Deep with a sole headliner featuring Between You And Me, The Away Game and Bearclaw Camp at The Gov in Adelaide 25 March. Tickets are on sale here at 11AM Friday 8 December.

There are more acts to be announced according to a press release, so keep your eyes on Hysteria for the latest updates. Unfortunately Melbourne, you’re going to have to either buy a ticket to the festival or score some cheap flights because Unify Presents have announced there will be no sideshows in your city. Rough we know, but you can’t blame ‘em for the first year; support the fest and we’ll see what happens next year!
