THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN // Announce Final Australian Tour

In a move that is equally as sad as it is understandable, The Dillinger Escape Plan have announced their last ever Australian tour dates.

Following the release of the band’s latest piece of fine art, Dissociation, the band announced that they would be hanging up the gloves after twenty years of skewing the realms of possibility, redefining heavy music philosophy and cheating certain death.

Dillinger’s awe inspiring technical fury, perfectly painted time and time again across 6 full length albums, has influenced a generation of bands and artists both within and outside the metal universe. The band compositions encapsulate all that is beautiful and disgusting in this world, and for two decades The Dillinger Escape Plan have managed to survive and prosper outside the box of expectation. On stage (and pretty much anywhere in the venue that can be physically reached) they are a band capable of creating pure chaos, but execute it with surgical precision, and need to be experienced to be truly believed. These are not so much The Dillinger Escape Plan’s “final shows” as much as they are their very last performances.

Thankfully, Australian fans get one final opportunity to witness the wizardry of the math-metal pioneers as they waltz through most major cities across the country, and leave a bittersweet trail of destruction in their wake. In a last act of gratitude, the band promise to give their fans a setlist of swan songs spanning their entire career during these final encounters. The Dillinger Escape Plan is done, and it’s time to celebrate.
