DAVEY HAVOK // Announces Release Of Second Novel

Davey Havok, frontman for rock royalty AFI, straight edge vegan activist, fashionista, sometime model and published author (phew!) has today announced the release of his second book Love Fast Los Angeles, due out 6th February, 2018.

The multitalented Jack of all trades has attached a trailer to the announcement, a fast-frame 20 second teaser which frames the novel’s story. Opening with a hooded figure walking in darkness, tearing pages from a book for burning. Images of equally shocking things follow in ever speeding frames – money, drugs, perceived notions of fame, violence – before the book’s title is splayed across the screen.

This pop-fuelled noir throbs with fast cars, pop stars, poser parties, golden guns and designer drugs. Love Fast Los Angeles tells the story of Alvin, whose controversial photography website brings unadulterated fame to hundreds. With a “fiery, freshly broken heart,” Alvin attempts to enact his vendetta against a former online teen heartthrob while struggling to gain the affection of socialite, Sky Monroe.

Havok likened his ideas and writing process to the book’s predecessor, 2013’s Pop Kids, saying, “I’ve repeatedly experienced its moments come to life around me, if not identically, very close – it’s rather unnerving… No matter how extreme, life seems to match or outdo my characters.”

Havok, who also performs with Blaqk Audio, XTRMST and Dreamcar, has said he hopes to have a third novel published “within a decade.”

Havok also launched a PledgeMusic campaign for the book earlier this year.
