CHELSEA ROCKWELLS // Release First EP, ‘Eleven Vol. 1’

Chelsea Rockwells

Touching down after a banner year, Gold Coast prog rockers Chelsea Rockwells have released their debut EP, Eleven Vol. 1 which you can stream below.

Despite their dearth of recorded material, the rockers landed rotations on leading rock stations Triple M and Rebel FM, ranked #75 on the 4zzz Hot 100, and supported Thirsty Merc and The Screaming Jets. Chelsea Rockwells describes their “unique take on heavy rock” as a blend of Royal Blood, Karnivool, Opeth, and Led Zeppelin.

The band enlisted Matt Bartlem (Dead Letter Circus, Jarryd James, Matt Corby) to produce the EP at the prestigious Loose Stones Studios. Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Shihad, Birds of Tokyo) to handled the mixing, mastering, and engineering.

Drummer Sean Dalton says, “Tracks like Aztec and Stone were very much formed out of these improv jams. We had about 10-12 songs written but eventually narrowed it down to five. We had all the songs pretty finely tuned and had spent a lot of time dialling in every intricate detail. The transition into the studio was seamless. We were surrounded by a magical vibe the entire recording process. Working with Matt Martlem along with Zachary Hylton and Jay Bainbridge was like working with the dream team. We were also lucky enough to have Forrester Savell co produce/mix and master Halos and Night Time Falls.”

Chelsea Rockwells will headline two special EP release shows in April.
