BORN LION // Set To ‘Celebrate The Lie’ + Drop New Single

One of Sydney’s most explosive punk rock acts Born Lion are back with a new album, Celebrate the Lie, and first single Evil K a taste of what’s to come. Listen below:

Celebrate the Lie is due out mid-October via Four/Four Records. The album was produced by Jimmy Balderstone (Luca Brasi, High Tension, Grenadiers) and mixed by Ryan Hazell (The Drones, Green Buzzard). The album is a followup to their acclaimed and ARIA nominated 2015 effort, Final Words.

Front man John Bowker describes the creative process behind Evil K in a statement: “Evil K was the first song we wrote with our new drummer, Andres. It was such an exciting time and this song felt like the start of something really special. I penned the lyrics after watching a late night doco on these aging stuntmen whose childhood hero was ‘Evel Knievel’”.

Their success rolled on the back of winning triple j Unearthed’s 2013 Soundwave Festival comp, and have supported big rock names like The Hives, The Bronx, Royal Blood, Marmozets and Karnivool, as well as headlining in their own right.

The boys will be supporting the new single in a series of free (as in, no! money down?) shows along the East Coast this September. No ticket link here; you just rock up and rock out.
