Sydney’s riotous garage-punk trio Bloods released a new earworming power-pop single from their upcoming, yet to be titled second album. Listen below:
Bloods’ Bring My Walls Down premiered on Consequence of Sound last Friday. The band worked with producer Shane Stoneback (Sleigh Bells, M.I.A, Fucked Up), imparting a hard-edged yet dreamy sound to the track.
Singer MC explains the lyrics in a statement: “BMWD looks at love as a disease, a kind of infection that infests your mind and body without you having any control over it; something that breaks through uninvited and reminds you that you’re an animal.”
Sydney three-piece Bloods formed in 2011, featuring MC (lead vocals/guitarist), Sweetie (bass/vocals) and Dirk (drums). They have released one EP, Golden Fang, in 2013. They followed it up with critically acclaimed debut LP Work It Out. It earned them places at SXSW Festival in Austin, TX, and support slots with Sleater-Kinney, The Preatures and Wavves.
