Beartooth’s lead guitarist Taylor Lumley shares his Top 5 shows that changed his life, right before he hits Aussie soil supporting Pierce the Veil.
Blink-182 on the Take Off Your Pants And Jacket tour
This was the first show I ever went to. I was 11 or 12-years-old, and I had just discovered skateboarding and punk rock, and all that good shit. My cousin got an extra ticket for the show, so I went with him, and I got to watch Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory and Blink all crush it. Still one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
Every Time I Die on the Take Action tour with August Burns Red, The Bled and The Human Abstract
Went to this show in 2008 with a couple friends at the Cleveland House of Blues. I wasn’t really familiar with The Human Abstract, but the rest of the show was sick. I love The Bled, ABR and ETID. It was my first time getting to see August Burns Red, and they had just put out Messengers, it was sick. Then ETID came out and absolutely destroyed the place. They had just put out The Big Dirty, and opened with No Son Of Mine, it was heavy as fuck.
Playing Download main stage for the first time this June
This was just a super surreal moment for us as a band. You never think you’ll get to do something this cool, but we did. It was wild, and fun, and everything went off without a hitch. Shit was wild and we all came off the stage buzzing. I loved it.
Blink-182 for the 10th anniversary of the self-titled album at the Wiltern
We lucked out and got to go see this show on an off-day from one of our first tours (ironically with August Burns Red), and it was sick as hell. Also the last show we got to see them with Tom DeLonge in the band. It was a sold out show at The Wiltern. They had sold it out like five nights in a row. At the end LL Cool J came out and they played Mama Said Knock You Out as a full band, it was insane.
New Found Glory at the Newport in Columbus for 10-years of Sticks and Stones
Love this band, and I’ve seen them every time they’ve come to Columbus. Hoping they do a 10th anniversary of Catalyst soon, because I will literally throw money at someone to go to that show.
