Yay! An injection of sunshiny pop-punk goodness is just what the doctor ordered! If Arborview’s bouncy melodies and relatable lyrics don’t get you moving and grooving, get out. These guys have got a certain kind of sound that while somewhat generic and a throws up some noughties nostalgia, is rife with energy.

The inclusion of opener Scotty Goes To The Studio, a simple phone call between the band’s members before they presumably kick off recording the album, is a nice little introduction to the band and their quirks, a pretty cool how-do-you-do to new listeners given they only formed last year.

Arborview have created a solid first release that doesn’t take itself too seriously, proving that they have all the ingredients to become one of Australia’s next big punk-pop exports.

But in that year Arborview have been hard at work–they’ve gained a massive amount of international attention, signing to LA label We Are Triumphant, where their punchy chords and rabid drum fills would have been most welcome. What’s more welcome is this sound comes from an Aussie band! Stormy Weather sways and bounces and is Arborview at peak punk-pop, while Rise Up walks on the path of emo, angsty, morose yet vibrant, the album’s stand out track.

Arborview have created a solid first release that doesn’t take itself too seriously, proving that they have all the ingredients to become one of Australia’s next big punk-pop exports.
