ABURDEN // Premiere Tour Diary w/ Storm The Sky

Hysteria are proud to premiere the tour diary from Aburden’s recent jaunt across Australia with Storm The Sky.

Opening for the death-pop group on select shows throughout the Sin Will Find You tour this past March, Aburden find themselves on the other side of the country with a fanbase they never knew existed.

Interviews with each member of the band, as well as a guest spot from Storm The Sky’s Will Jarratt, capture what it’s like to be a young band eager to throw themselves into touring. Vocalist Mason Forster said of the eye-opening experience; “we would rock up to the shows on the tour, and seeing the amount of gear that Storm had for their live performance with all their lighting… We would rock up for sound check with a few guitars! It was just such an eye opener to what a live show can be. I guess mainly in the local scene of music we don’t get to see that all too often when a band outsources lighting gear and smoke machines to enhance their shows. It really showed us what we could do to make our live shows more a ‘show’ then just a set.”

Footage from their support slots in Perth and Adelaide, along with a special sideshow at Wrangler Studios in Melbourne all make their way into the vid. “The crowds in Perth were just so welcoming to us,” says Forster. “Perth is the only city we as a band haven’t played yet so we were so excited for this tour to tick that off our list. We were that ‘opening’ band which no one was there for, but when we walked on stage to start our set everyone was at the front to watch us. That’s something we haven’t experienced before.”

Filmed by Liam Davidson (Lord Media) and Jackson Webster (Wolves In The Woodwork Visuals), as well as edited by the latter, the diary features audiences waiting to grasp their chance for a dangling mic grab. Looking to the future, Forster says, “[we’re planning on] releasing our debut EP which is something we have been talking about for some time now. We didn’t want to rush this release as this record means more to the band and to myself then just something we created to hold. Personally, it’ll have all my emotions, feelings and experiences put into it.”
